The View ladies recently discussed the Tim Tebow/Mrs. Tebow ad, sponsored by Focus on the Family, which will appear during tomorrow’s Super Bowl. During this segment, Joy Behar says the ad “doesn’t make sense” because, in her view, it would it would have been wrong for serial-murderer Ted Bundy’s mother not to have had the right to abort her son.

Behar’s selection of Ted Bundy is ironic and especially cruel, since Bundy is well-known in Florida. Bundy killed two Florida State coeds, and wounded a third, on “Super Bowl Sunday,” January 15, 1978. The Florida State Seminoles are rivals of the Florida Gators, Tebow’s former team. Of course, these were not Bundy’s only victims.

Clearly, Ms. Behar clearly does not hold that all human lives have value, whether born or unborn. The inherent weaknesses in her argument are manifold:

  • There is no inherent dignity to human life, per se.
  • Some lives are more valuable than others.
  • Human choice is the ultimate value.

How sad.
