A blessed Christmastide to everyone! Bioethike is back!

Americans United for Life recently filed a brief in the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals (South Dakota) arguing that there is an increased risk of suicide among women who’ve had abortions. As I’ve mentioned before, my sister took her own life about a year ago, and I believe that her depression and eventual suicide were caused, in part, by the two abortions that she had performed prior to her death. I agree with the legal arm of the AUL: women should know that having an abortion entails not only physical risks, but also mental and spiritual risks including an increased chance of depression and suicide.

Truth in labeling, and all that.
