Sen. Barbara Mikulski’s (D-Maryland) amendment (no. 2971), the first to be considered as the Senate continues debating Reidcare, was to have been postponed today according to The New York Times. To ascertain whether the Mikulski amendment would allow for abortion, here’s a snippet of the amendment followed by a video clip of the senator taken a few months ago.

‘‘(4) with respect to women, such additional preventive care and screenings not described in paragraph (1) as provided for in comprehensive guidelines supported by the Health Resources and Services Administration for purposes of this paragraph.’’.

Please recall that “preventative care” in this case includes abortions. Here’s the senator:
