Senate Finance Committee votes against pro-life efforts. . . twice

The AP is reporting that Senator Orin Hatch’s (R-Utah) efforts to strengthen language to disallow abortion coverage and to protect the consciences of health care workers regarding abortion were rebuffed by the Senate Finance Committee today. Separately, the Senate could be voting on the legislation as early as mid-October.
