So, like, I logged on to BarackObama.com September 20 and offered my opinion about the health care proposals making their way through Congress. And the President e-mailed me back, remember?

Well, today I was invited to special gathering this Saturday only a few blocks from my home. Seems Jessica Byrd from the Missouri collective contingent somehow got my e-mail address:

Following the President’s health reform address to Congress two weeks ago, OFA volunteers stepped up and generated a huge outpouring of grassroots support, including hundreds of thousands of signatures and calls in support of real health reform.

So to keep the great momentum going, we’re holding a canvass kickoff this Saturday in Saint Louis. Organizing for America volunteers will be going door to door asking folks to sign on in support of the President’s plan for health reform and to make their voices heard in this debate.

Will you join us for the canvass this Saturday, September 26th?

No prior experience is necessary. Organizing for America volunteers will be on hand to provide all the materials and guidance you’ll need to be successful.

Passing health reform won’t be easy — they’ve been talking about it in Washington for almost a century. But we know that when ordinary people who believe in change reach out, spread the facts, and help folks from all walks of life make their voices heard, we can make history.

Come join fellow supporters for health insurance reform this Saturday for a canvass kickoff. We’ll be walking around neighborhoods to deliver the message President Obama’s health care plan to fellow St. Louisans. The time for action is now. Come take a stand and help realize the change we voted for last November!
