Business First reports that adult bone marrow stem cells may provide a way to repair damaged retinal tissue, based on research done at the University of Louisville.
The findings are an important step toward helping people who experience vision loss and blindness as a result of age-related macular degeneration and hereditary retinal degeneration, the university said in a news release.
The Reverend Robert C. Baker, B.B.A, M.Div., M.S., is an ordained pastor in The Lutheran Church--Missouri Synod, and serves as an adjunct professor of philosophy at Lindenwood University's Belleville, IL campus.
